“The Lord is greater than the giants you face”
1 John 4:4
Meet Giovanna
There are numerous options available to us in life, but the family we are born into is not one of them. Since the moment we took our first breath, we have encountered challenging times and situations that were far from ideal, enduring circumstances that no child should have to face.
Learning how to be effective and understanding parents is not a skill that most of us are explicitly taught. Instead, we learn to parent based on the examples set by our own parents, who in turn learned from their parents. Unfortunately, this often results in the perpetuation of negative attitudes, beliefs, and habits that are passed down through generations, directly or indirectly influencing us. Consequently, we develop unhealthy coping mechanisms to navigate the emotional, mental, and sometimes physical pain we endure. These unhealthy coping strategies then find their way into our social and intimate relationships, and ultimately, we pass them on to our own children. However, there is hope. By actively choosing to break these negative patterns and acquiring healthier ways to parent our children and handle the challenges life throws at us, we can put an end to these intergenerational cycles. And there is even more good news.
Firstly, therapy can provide us with the tools to learn healthy coping strategies and effective parenting skills, replacing the negative patterns we have learned and leading to a happier and more fulfilling life. Secondly, if your child is struggling with anxiety, depression, or has faced difficult experiences at a young age, I can offer assistance.
The most uplifting news of all is that there is a God who loves you and your child(ren) unconditionally and deeply. He is willing to forgive us for our mistakes, and I firmly believe that He has guided you to Christian Counseling to seek therapy from a Christian therapist who truly understands you and your loved ones. Please know that you and your loved ones are not alone, and with God, there is always hope.
If you are a parent and your child is grappling with the challenges that life has presented, please don't hesitate to reach out and call.
